1. Huainan, China, is home to the world's largest floating solar farm. The 40-megawatt power plant consists of 120,000 solar panels covering an area of more than 160 football fields. It will provide power for 15,000 homes annually. – Quartz Media LLC 

2. The United States and Argentina have reached a deal on the import of U.S. pork. The Argentine market has been closed to U.S. pork since 1992. The U.S. is the world's top pork exporter. – Farm Futures

3. Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds is calling on the EPA to raise the 2019 biodiesel volume requirements in the Renewable Fuel Standard.Iowa has 11 biodiesel refineries in production, supporting 43,000 jobs and generating $2.3 billion in income. – Wallaces Farmer

4. Canada, one of the world's largest wheat exporters, is projecting a drop to a six-year low in wheat output because of drought and fewer planted acres. – Farm Futures 

5. Hyndsight Vision Systems has introduced a rear-view camera monitoring system that allows you to see what's going on behind you without turning back. You can also monitor livestock during transport. – American Agriculturist

6. Duarte Nursery has reached a settlement with the federal government after a long-running dispute. Duarte admits no liability, pays a civil penalty and purchases vernal pool mitigation credits. – Farm Futures

7. South Dakota cooperatives, North Central Farmers Elevator and Wheat Growers, will vote on a merger in September. Member information meetings will begin Aug. 21 and voting ends Sept. 28. The two cooperatives last voted on a merger in 2015. – U.S. News and World Report

And your bonus. NAFTA negotiations got underway Wednesday in Washington. U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer opened the talks with aggressive rhetoric, compared to leaders from Canada and Mexico, who emphasized the gains of the trade deal. Farm groups, meanwhile, came together to call for negotiators to find ways to build on agricultural exports. Trump sees NAFTA talks as major step to fulfilling his campaign pledge to level the playing field for American workers. Canada's Foreign Affairs Minister laid out Canada's core objectives for the negotiations. – Farm Futures
