The Around Farm Progress podcast shifts gears this week to consider the power of the dinner table.

Have you ever considered the power of the dinner table? Families that make time to dine together keep communication lines open, and that could work in other ways too. Shelley Huguley, Southwest Farm Press recently explored that idea in an editorial column and shared her personal experience with the concept.

In addition she took part in a Farm to Fork dinner with food bloggers, many of whom had never been on a farm, and she shares what she learned. Breaking bread together can be a powerful way to break down walls and get to know each other as people. Communication is more important than ever and perhaps the dinner table is a way to start.

For those farmers that make their farms available for these Farm to Fork events, thanks for helping to open the lines of communication beyond the farm. Learn more in Shelley’s conversation about the issue. It’s worth a listen.
