The California State Fair announces that its innovative Drone Light Show will take place during the 166th festival's final weekend.

The Drone Light Show will be accompanied by a traditional fireworks show in the evenings at the Miller Lite Racetrack Grandstand from Friday through Sunday.

Fair officials say they've worked closely with the vendor to ensure the drone fleet is ready to go and has been fully tested to meet the highest safety standards.

"We’re pleased to finally provide this state-of-the-art entertainment to our guests and look forward to a first-of-its-kind show to close out what has been an amazing California State Fair," the officials say in a news release.

The Drone Show will begin between 9:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., depending on weather and wind conditions. The Drone Light Show will be immediately followed by the traditional fireworks show.
