Please welcome Pam Caraway as the new senior writer at Delta Farm Press. She is a great addition to the team, rounding out coverage of the Midsouth.

Pam has an excellent history in agriculture including some time with Farm Progress as the editor of Southern Farmer magazine. Over the past 11 years, Pam has done agency work with Dow Agrosciences (now Corteva Agriscience), Bayer, and Syngenta.

“She will be a great addition for coverage of the Delta region,” said Senior Content Director at Farm Press, Brad Haire. “She has well over 20 years working with producers and industry leaders to develop information that is helpful and beneficial for our readers.”

She started her writing career working at Northwest Florida Daily News in Fort Walton Beach, Fla. Her agricultural career began in ag trade magazines including about 12 years at Southern Farmer. She then moved on to agency work with Bader Rutter and Rhea + Kaiser where she worked with the large agrochemical companies.

Caraway has interacted with many farmers over the years and has a long list of ag connections that she brings with her - she enjoys getting on the farm to talk with growers one on one. She has spent extensive time writing about cotton, rice, peanuts, soybeans and other commodity crops.

“My goal in this role is to get back to doing more of what drives my passion: serving farmers,” she said. “As the world pushes us to be environmentally sustainable, we must also focus on economic sustainability. Providing information that farm families can use to help them stay on the farm is key.”

Pam lives in the rural south Alabama, about 45 minutes north of Destin, Fla. She is married to Bo and has three happily married sons and five grandchildren, with another one due in August.

On her days off she can head down to the Gulf Coast to enjoy the sun and the sand when the crowds aren’t too heavy.

We welcome Pam back to the Farm Progress family and look forward to her reports from the field.
