GALA: The Ohio Cattlemen’s Foundation is hosting a daylong celebration Aug. 26 to support the Ohio Cattlemen’s Foundation youth scholarship fund.

Ohio’s cattle producers have a lot to celebrate at the Cattlemen’s Gala Celebration and Fundraiser Aug. 26 in the Marysville and Delaware areas. The event will support the Ohio Cattlemen’s Foundation youth scholarship fund to benefit the next generation of beef industry leaders.

The day will start with a sporting clays shoot from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring individual and team competition. Lunch will be included for participants.

Following the shoot, OCA will hold a summer business meeting at Leeds Farm in Ostrander, to discuss proposed amendments to the OCA bylaws. The business meeting is open to all OCA members.

Later that evening, attendees can gather in their boots and hats for dinner, drinks and dancing in the barn at the first Cattlemen's Gala Celebration and Fundraiser, also at Leeds Farm. The evening will feature live music from the John D. Hale Band, a nationally known Red Dirt music group from Missouri.

Silent and live auctions will be held during the evening to support youth scholarships. Sponsorship opportunities for all events are also available. For more information, contact the foundation at 614-873-6736.

The events are open to all and discounted rates are available for attending the entire day, or individuals can select to attend the clays shoot or gala. For more information on the day’s events, visit ohiocattle.org. Registration deadline for all events will be Aug. 14.
