Max Armstrong says Husker Harvest Days is celebrating 40 years. (audio)

Max is in Grand Island, Nebraska, today for Husker Harvest Days.

Have you heard that something is killing the maple trees in Minnesota? Yellow leaf maples, some with bare branches. Some said started when put in container that restricted roots. We need to be constantly planting trees to insure generations following us have abundant trees.

In 1978, they started a farm show at site of former munitions plant. Starting today, mark 40 years of Husker Harvest Days. It’s smaller, younger cousin of Farm Progress Show.

There’s another crop report coming out today. Today’s estimates will not be final word. Also in October, November and January.

TV newsman from Indianapolis Howard Caldwell has died at 92. Interesting reading social media comments on his passing. He was remembered for being unbiased newsman.
