Max Armstrong talks about the Empire Builder train that was stuck in North Dakota snow drift. (audio)

March 9, 2017

The flags outside our Chicago studio are dangling. The winds are finally calm.

They were finally successful in freeing the passenger train that became stuck in a 25-foot-tall snowbank five miles west of Rugby, North Dakota. Empire Builder Engine No. 8 got bogged down in a snow drift yesterday morning around 7 a.m. Last night at 6:45 p.m. digging snow out by hand, the train was freed and on its way to St. Paul and Chicago.

Our country has exported a lot of grain since mid-year last year. The question is will it continue especially with big crops harvested in South America.

We will lose an hour Sunday morning. I still struggle to adjust every six months when we have to change our clocks.
