Max Armstrong talks about soybean harvest in South America. (podcast)

The auto companies have cranked up their public relations machines, extolling what they are doing for America. This comes after president-elect Trump has criticized them for moving jobs overseas. GM said it's going to invest $1 billion in plants, which appears to have been planned for months.

Soybeans begun week on higher note, the highest in about 7 weeks. The soybean gains may be due in part to concerns about soybean losses in Argentina and a trucker strike in Brazil. Truck drivers want more money for hauling to port.

Several groups from the heartland will be among those in inaugural parade since it's the center of country given credit for electing Donald Trump. Boone County, Kentucky, 4-H group will be there. Brand new tractors will be there. The presidents of American Farm Bureau Federation, American Soybean Association, National Pork Producers Council and National Association of Farm Broadcasters are among those who will be driving tractors in the inaugural parade.
