Max Armstrong says it appears the worst of winter storm Helena is headed toward the southeastern U.S. (podcast)

January 6, 2017

It appears the worst of winter storm Helena is headed to the southeastern United States. Snow is expected in Birmingham, Alabama; Raleigh, N.C., and Atlanta, Georgia.

Speculation continues on who Donald Trump will name as ag secretary. Few president-elects have waited this long to name an agriculture secretary.

It will be interesting to see if the president-elect reaches out to the American Farm Bureau Federation during its annual meeting, Jan. 6-11 in Phoenix. If AFBF president Zippy Duvall gavels his convention to a close with no ag secretary selected, the rumbling in ag country will likely turn to a roar.

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack hasn't publicly announced what he's going to do come Jan. 23, but word is he's set to become president and CEO of U.S. Dairy Export Council.
