Max Armstrong shares memories of Bill Jurek. (Audio)

September 15, 2017

We got the news this week that Chicago voice over artist and radio personality Bill Jurek died. Bill’s voice was heard in a lot of places. When I got the news he had passed away. I flashbacked to when he told me he was going blind. He was the father of three young boys and was in the prime of his life. He picked himself up and started running. He got a guide dog. He maneuvered with guide dog through streets of Chicago. When his sense of sight went away, his sense of laughter got more intense. When Sampson the dog was lying on studio floor one day as we were recording, he began snoring. Bill giggled and said wait until he starts farting. Bill turned his challenge into force for good to help others. He handled life change with grace.
