U.S. Senate won't be voting on Sonny Perdue this week. With upcoming recess, nomination won't happen until later this month at earliest. He was last cabinet nominee announced and wait on ethics papers delayed confirmation further. His nomination was voted out of committee last week with one vote against. Last week, farm groups sent letter that USDA has been without political leadership for two months, longer than any other agency.

Donations continue to come into Kansas where wildfire damaged farms.
