Some parts of the region had a remarkably safe weekend for the holiday. Wisconsin had only three non-fatal shooting accidents during hunting season.

The Ohio State Patrol said this past weekend was the safest since the 1990s on the roads. 

The Minnesota DNR is warning people about ice on lakes. Some lakes have none, others have a few inches.

The Varsity Theater in Des Moines, Iowa will shut down next month. The one-screen theater opened Christmas Day, 1938.
