Mark your calendars to attend the Northwest Michigan Winegrape Spring Kickoff meeting on Friday, April 8, at the Northwest Michigan Horticultural Research Center near Traverse City. This year’s kickoff is a full-day program with a lunch provided on-site.

Scheduled topics and speakers include:

Morning
9-9:15 a.m. – Welcome and Parallel 45 update, Brian Hosmer, President, P45 Vines and Wines Inc.

9:15 a.m.-12 p.m. – Vineyard sprayer technology and calibration, John Stone, Pesticide Safety Education Program, MSU

12 p.m. – Lunch will be provided on-site

Afternoon
1-3 p.m. – Grape disease biology and management, Annemiek Schilder, MSU

Northwest Michigan winegrape spring meeting held April 8, 2016

3-5 p.m. – Comparative tasting of Michigan wines made from vinifera varieties not commonly grown in the state, Led by a panel of NW Michigan winemakers

This meeting is jointly sponsored by Michigan State University Extension and Parallel 45 Vines and Wines, Inc. The registration fee is $10 for Parallel 45 members or $15 for non-members. Pre-registration is required so appropriate accommodations for lunch and the wine tasting can be arranged. You may register at the Winegrape Spring Kickoff Registration page.
