SPEAK UP: Eligible counties can offer their suggestions to improve Rural Development Fund grants.

The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development along with the Rural Development Fund Board wants public input to improve the competitive Rural Development Fund grants.

The grants promote the sustainability of land-based industries, such as food and agriculture, forestry, mining, oil and gas production, and tourism, as well as support workforce training, rural capacity building, business development, and infrastructure that benefits rural communities.

For your input to be considered in developing the program’s priorities for 2018, MDARD is asking for your reply to be submitted by July 12.

Eligible counties include those with a population no greater than 60,000 residents. For a complete list of eligible counties or to view the 2017 grant application and program overview, visit michigan.gov/mdardgrants.

To submit a comment regarding the Rural Development Fund grants, send an email to [email protected] before 5 p.m. July 12.
