We — our country and the world — are going through turbulent times like we haven’t seen in many years.
The coronavirus has everyone on pins and needles: What should we believe? Should we stay at home? What is happening to our life savings? Not since 9-11 and the world wars have we experienced such anxiety.
There are lines to purchase groceries and other necessities and, of course, restaurants and other nonessential businesses and services are closed. The good news in all of this is that families are staying at home, spending more time together and cooking their meals.
When visiting with nonfarmers, I reassure them that they need not worry as we live in the most productive country in the world. Our farmers’ will produce all we need.
I’m choosing to “Wait on the Lord.” Isaiah 40:31 “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
Hopefully by the time you read this we will be on the road to recovery. It may not be easy, but this will pass and we’ll all be better for it.
We’re praying that love ones stay healthy, that those in authority make good decisions, and that as we rebound from this each one of us will have taken some time to search out what really is important.
So, join me and others of faith as we wait and look to Him to renew our strength.
