GROUP EFFORT: FCS Financial Rural Community and Agriculture Foundation presents $10,000 to the Andrew County Youth Foundation for the construction of a youth and community building on the fairgrounds.

The FCS Rural Community and Agriculture Foundation recently granted $10,000 to the Andrew County Youth Foundation for the construction of a Youth and Community Building on the fairgrounds.

On hand for the presentation in the picture above were (from left) Jim Humphrey, MU livestock specialist; Mark Deshon, board member, FCS Financial; Shane Deering, Andrew County Youth Foundation; Ashley Lyle, Andrew County Youth Foundation; Cutter Deering; Tom Hare, Andrew County Youth Foundation; Clint Callow, vice president, FCS Financial; Phillip Eiberger, financial services officer, FCS Financial; and Scott Gardner, vice president of sales and marketing, FCS Financial.

The fully insulated, climate-controlled, 1,600-square-foot building will include a kitchen and handicapped-accessible restrooms. Nearly three-quarters of the costs were raised through fundraising, individual pledges and donated services. The FCS Financial Foundation grant puts the project closer to its main goal of getting the inside of the building completed and fully functional.

ROOM TO GROW: The Andrew County Youth and Community Building is a fully insulated, climate-controlled, 1,600-square-foot building that will include a kitchen and handicapped-accessible restrooms.

“The Youth and Community Building will provide a facility where more than 450 youth and 900 adults from throughout the area can participate in year-round activities,” says Jim Humphrey, Andrew County Youth Foundation adviser. “We will also be able to host the Andrew County 4-H/FFA Project Day, as well as producer and community meetings at the Andrew County Fairgrounds.”

The FCS Financial Rural Community and Agriculture Foundation represents the cooperative’s long-term commitment to a thriving and prosperous agricultural industry and our rural communities. The foundation focuses on targeted, long-term investments.

“County fairs present a great opportunity for youth to learn about leadership as they show their projects,” says David Janish, FCS Financial CEO. “FCS Financial is committed to supporting our rural communities by providing assistance to help tomorrow’s leaders succeed. The Youth and Community Building will be a valuable asset to the community and surrounding areas.”
