Farm toy hobbyists recently gathered in “The Farm Toy Capital of the World,” for the 42nd annual National Farm Toy Show in Dyersville, Iowa.

Farm toy replicas date back to the 1940s when Fred Ertl launched the Ertl Company in Dyersville. Ertl brand toys are now marketed by Tomy International, which was joined by First Gear, Scale Models and SpecCast at this year’s show.

Tomy showcased a 1/16 scale John Deere Model S780 combine at the show. It will be released to dealerships in 2020.

Dealers offered a wide range of models at the show, including a few cast-iron pieces that date back to the 1800s. Sand-cast models were also available along with die-cast replicas, both past and present.  Customized and scratch-built models were sold too.
