The Engelstad Foundation has pledged to give Farm Rescue $975,000 over the next three years. The money will be used primarily to purchase equipment that Farm Rescue, a non-profit charity, requires to plant, harvest, hay and feed livestock for farmers and ranchers in need due to health problems, accidents or natural disasters.

The Engelstad Foundation is the largest supporter of Farm Rescue. It has given $1.49 million to the organization since 2015.

"We are forever grateful for the generosity of the Engelstad family," says Bill Gross, Farm Rescue founder and president. "Their unwavering support of our mission has allowed us to increase capacity and build upon our strengths to help others during times of crisis."

"The wonderful farm families in North Dakota remain the lifeblood of the region," says Kris Engelstad McGarry, trustee of the Engelstad Foundation. "We are proud and honored to support — and continue to support — Farm Rescue's selfless mission. It's truly rewarding to see our contributions have a visible impact."

The Engelstad Foundation is a private independent foundation based in Las Vegas. The late Ralph Engelstad — who was born in Thief River Falls, Minn., and attended the University of North Dakota — created the Engelstad Family Foundation. He was the owner of the Imperial Palace Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, one of the largest privately-owned hotels in the world, as well as other properties.

Since its inception, the Engelstad Foundation has donated more than $200 million to causes in Nevada, Minnesota, Mississippi and North Dakota.
