Max Armstrong looks back on some history of the outdoor farm show

August 27, 2018

Max Armstrong notes that the outdoor farm show season has begun, but where did this idea of a big show start? He shares that the popular corn husking competitions may have been the start; but notes that a group of advertisers got the idea of taking the equipment to the field in the fall of 1953 and the farm progress show was born.

Farm Progress America is a daily look at key issues in agriculture. It is produced and presented by Max Armstrong, veteran farm broadcaster and host of This Week in Agribusiness.
