ORANGE AND BLUE: The annual ACES tailgate has been a perennial favorite for families and alumni to reconnect, like the Mark and Rocky Nelson family. Holly Spangler

This year, the University of Illinois College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences tailgate has a new name and location: Celebrate Food and Agriculture Day will be held in the renovated Stock Pavilion from 8-11 a.m. on Sept. 14.

The event was formerly known as Salute to Ag Day and was held as a tailgate in a tent near the stadium.

The event is hosted by the College of ACES to welcome Illinois supporters in food, agriculture and allied industries to campus to cheer on the Fighting Illini football team as they play Eastern Michigan. A breakfast buffet will be served, followed by brief remarks at 9:30 a.m.

The Stock Pavilion was renovated a couple of years ago, and visitors will be able to take tours of the renovated spaces. The college also will be revealing custom terra-cotta animal head medallions that are being returned home to the Stock Pav.

Tickets for the Celebrate Food and Ag event are $15 for adults and $7.50 for students up to 21 years old, and are available online. Tickets for the football game are available exclusively through the Athletic Ticket Office.
