ENGINEERING GENIUS: Marcus Cain was not only a Dawes County farmer. He also was an engineering genius. Although he had offers to work for some of the largest farm equipment manufacturers of the day, he stayed true to his true passion — farming. During his lifetime, he invented numerous farming implements that were forward-thinking and ahead of their time. His inventions are now preserved at the Cain Exhibit at the Dawes County Historical Society Museum in Chadron.
