Launching new equipment to a market is a lot of fun for everyone. Engineers and project managers can finally talk about a machine they've been working on, and hiding, from public view. Media folks have news to talk about because farmers hunger for "what's new" information all the time. And there are a lot of similarities about how these launches are handled in Europe as they are in the United States, but some differences too.
Last week, New Holland launched the SmartTrax T8 lineup to the European market with a first-viewing near Turin at the La Bellotta Sustainable Farm. The company also showed off the T7 tractor with significant upgrades as well. The SmartTrax was first rolled out in the United States, but it was interesting to be on hand to see it rolled out in a new market.
In this gallery we share the launch and information about the company's prototype methane tractor - a second generation machine - which offers some interesting innovation potential into the market as well. So check out the images above to learn more about the tractors, and how tractor rollouts in Europe are just a little bit different from how we do them in the U.S. In some cases, different is good!
