Even as the farm equipment market cools, major players are rolling out new equipment and technology for 2015. For Case IH, that list of new equipment ranges from a new machine in the Magnum line to a new combine to a new approach to the company's Advanced Farming Systems with AFS Connect 2.0.

While machinery may capture farmer attention at this year's fall farm shows - including the Farm Progress Show where the new tools and equipment will first debut - it's the technology that may have the most impact. The new AFS Connect system includes the company's bold statements about who owns the data and how Case IH will work with farmers going forward.

The company is a charter supporter of the Open Agricultural Data Alliance (OADA) and will promote it's stance that farmers own the data they collect. Using an ad phrase "the data is mine. Not mined" the company is making a statement about data for the future.

During the media event, Jim Walker, Vice President, Case IH, North America, told media that data is the future. "New technology is something we will not take lightly," he says. "We believe the farmer owns the data."

That new system allows farmers to have a new Early Riser planter that incorporates key tech from Precision Planting to create an electric drive planter with enhanced precision.
