AUTONOMOUS SYSTEM: SPIRIT TRACTOR
The concept of going driverless with more systems is gaining interest as farmers confront the challenges of labor and time on their operations. The Spirit autonomous tractor offers a true driverless design - note, no cab. The prototype, first shown in late 2012, has some key design goals for its future debut on the market - to be a low-cost, efficient, reliable tractor with a fail-safe no-driver navigation system. The design targets for the machine: 25,000-hour service life, 500-hour service interval, a maximum 2 hour repair time and a selling price of $500 per horsepower. Visit http://autonomoustractor.com.
