Combine – Versatile RT 490

Versatile, a division of Buhler Industries, entered the highly competitive North American combine market with its Versatile RT490 combine. It is the first new combine that the farm equipment industry has seen in more than a decade. The RT490 is modeled after the Russian combine Torum, built by Buhler’s Russian parent company, Combine Factory Rostselmash. It features a unique threshing system called a rotating concave rotary system. The 360-degree concave moves counter to the rotor to make full use of the thresher and separator and increase the amount of grain that gets processed. The combine is built in Russia but contains a lot of global components. The hydraulic drive system is from Germany; the engine is a Cummins QSX 11.9 L; and pickups and headers are from MacDon. The basic machine retails for $379,000. Visit versatile-ag.com.
