USDA research Under Secretary Chavonda J. Jacobs-Young is in Colorado today, Sept. 26, to jumpstart a new agricultural advisory network to connect Mexico, Canada, and the United States in collaborative efforts.

The new network – called NAAAN (North American Agricultural Advisory Network) – is a platform to promote and support innovation, knowledge utilization, and information sharing across rural and urban landscapes throughout North America.

NAAAN shares North American best practices and facilitates learning from global best practices.

Jacobs-Young is signing an agreement between the USDA and Colorado State University, which will host the new collaborative institution.

The under secretary’s visit will include a campus tour including interaction with youth visiting the campus of CSU Spur, a year-round public life-long learning destination in Denver focused on engaging preschoolers through high school students and their families around food, water, and health, according to the university.
