On Thursday, Jan. 21, Iowa Learning Farms (ILF) begins its sixth year of monthly webinars, kicking 2016 off with John Lawrence, associate dean of the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences at Iowa State University. He is also director of the Iowa Nutrient Research Center and ISU's Extension Ag and Natural Resources program.

Webinar is live but will be broadcast at special date and time
The webinar will be live on a special date and time: Thursday, January 21 at 2:10 p.m.  The webinar will also feature ILF program manager Jacqueline Comito. Comito and Lawrence will discuss conservation and ISU Extension and Outreach and what the future may hold. They will also discuss the Iowa Nutrient Reduction Strategy and the challenges of meeting those goals of reduced nitrogen and phosphorus loss from Iowa.

Webinar participants will be able to converse with Lawrence during the webinar, by typing their questions through the chat function of the Adobe Connect software.

Regularly, the ILF webinars are held on the third Wednesday of each month, and in 2016, the live broadcasts will be at 1 p.m. The webinars are free and all that is needed to participate is a computer with Internet access. To connect to the webinar, go to connect.extension.iastate.edu/ilf/ at 1 p.m. on the afternoon of the webinar and log in through the "guest" option.

Past webinars are archived for viewing wide range of topics
ILF has hosted a monthly webinar since January 2011. All the past webinars are archived and can be watched anytime on the ILF website extension.iastate.edu/ilf/Webinars/. There are 60 webinars to date available for viewing on a wide range of topics including soil erosion, cover crops, buffers, bioreactors and farmer perspectives. The webinar archives are also available in podcast through iTunes.
