The Missouri Pork Association, in cooperation with others involved in the show pig industry, has created the MPA Youth Show Pig Circuit – MYSPC for short.

The MYSPC is a circuit of sanctioned shows throughout Missouri for junior swine exhibitors. MYSPC's mission is to provide junior swine exhibitors the opportunity to further their development of citizenship, leadership and sportsmanship while rewarding them for their participation and hard work in statewide exhibits.

Seven swine shows around Missouri are now sanctioned through the program. Members will accumulate points from each show that they enter. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in each of the following categories: barrows and gilts by breed, overall exhibitors, and showmanship.

Family membership packages are available for the following rates: two memberships in the same family, $40; three memberships in the same family, $60; four memberships and above in the same family, $15 per MYSPC member.

Membership is open to Missouri youths ages 21 and under as of Jan. 1 of the current year. For further information and a list of sanctioned shows, contact Diane Slater at (573) 445-8375 or visit www.mopork.com/youth_MYSPC.asp.
