The Dakota Farmer announces this year's Master Farmer award winners.

They are:
•Thomas and Jason Schill, Nekoma, N.D.
•Milton Limesand, Marion, N.D.
•Lynn Jensen, Lake Preston, S.D.
•Kenneth Kunz, Eureka, S.D.

All are accomplished farmers or ranchers, entrepreneurs and business managers. But that's not the only reason a family member, friend or colleague nominated them for recognition.

Meet The New Master Farmers

Milton Limesand, Marion, N.D.

Casey Limesand nominated his father, Milton, because he's the kind of farmer he wants to be someday.

Nina Schill nominated her husband and son, Thomas and Jason, partly because of how well they work together and how they have grown grain wheat and canola farm so Jason and his family can be part of it.

Don Johnson, a retired farmer from Brookings, S.D., nominated his friend, Lynn Jensen, for his quiet leadership and ability to bring people together.

Nina Kunz, nominated her husband, Kenneth, for having the foresight develop their ranch so that two of their sons and their families could come back home and join them in the business.
