Bestway is launching the new AutoGlide XR automatic boom height control, building on the AutoGlide system, but adding more advanced features. The new product works for most brands of self-propelled, mounted and pull-type sprayers.

Using rugged long-range ultrasonic sensors mounted on the spray boom, the AutoGlideXR continually monitors and maintains boom height above the ground or crop canopy. The system uses the existing electric-over-hydraulic controls so there are no added hydraulic components to add to your sprayer.

The AutoGlideXR has an exclusive 3-mode sensor setting that allows the operator to select Ground, Canopy or Partial Canopy to tailor performance to specific field conditions. New longer-range sensors improve performance over challenging terrain. And it is available with optional brackets for late-season nitrogen application with drop systems. Retail pricing for the system is based on the number of sensors you install. For a 60-foot boom, you would go with two or three sensors - a two-sensor system would be $4,975, for three sensors the cost is $5,675. For an 80-foot boom you would to with two, three or if in challenging terrain including terraces four sensors. The four-sensor price is $6,375. And for a 90 to 120-foot boom four or five sensors are recommended. The five-sensor cost is $7,075. Prices do not include freight, which usually runs about $30 according to the company.
