Glyphosate debate heats up in Europe

EU officials have to make decision by end of year.

The European Parliament is calling for glyphosate to be phased out over the next five years.

Parliament voted 355-204 in favor of a resolution urging the European Commission to adopt measures to phase out glyphosate. - Reuters

The European Parliament is comprised of elected representatives of the European Union. The vote was prompted by the World Health Organization finding that glyphosate is a “probable” carcinogen. – Center for Biological Diversity.
