December 9, 2024

Mike Pearson previews what the WASDE report could say and how it impacts both farmers and the markets.

In November, corn ending stocks were estimated at 1.9 billion bushels.

The USDA estimates 183 bushels per acre.

Average corn sales estimates by USDA have been impacted by exports with 1.372 million metric tonnes in corn sold in October.

Total corn exports are ahead of where they were last year by 39 percent.

Dried distillers grain is also expected to be up 10 percent from last month's report and set a record at 1.114 million metric tonnes.

Ethanol is also expected to be up with the highest amount sold. A record was set In October with the second largest exports ever. The USDA reports 143 million gallons were sold despite a 4 percent month over month decline.

If the corn stocks reach the 1..19 billion bushels ending, it could be supportive for higher prices.

Soybeans yield reduced in the October report to 51.7 bushels per acre.

The December report is estimated to maintain that number and is on track to meet the USDA estimates.

Soybean oil demand has kept steady and has increased the crush side.

Over 544 million bushels were produced and if exports continue, it could end up tightening the balance sheet up to 477 million bushels.

Wheat has also been hit by the export market and it could mean good news for producers.
