December 3, 2024

Mike Pearson takes a look at the ethanol industry and how production has increased in 2024.

Ethanol production has grown to an impressive rise 1. 1 million barrels a day.

Several factors are behind the increase in global demand are the desire for cleaner burning fuels which is pushing ethanol exports to new heights.

The three countries importing the most ethanol include the European Union, Brazil and Canada.

Ethanol exports are expected to exceed 1.5 billion gallons in 2024.

Meanwhile. domestically, E-15 is still waiting for some states to sell all year across the country. However, California has given approval and it will be available for sale there finally.

More pumps across the country are expanding providing more opportunities for farmers and producers alike.

The outlook for the ethanol industry is positive.

The good side is that the supply of corn is steady and strong which could help the ethanol industry grow or at least sustained production in 2025.

However, issues like corn prices and infrastructure could be problems for the industry in the future.
