Merger plans of Valley Farm Credit, headquartered in Winchester, Va., into Mid-Atlantic Farm Credit of Westminster, Md., were approved by both director boards last week. The merger takes effect December 31, says Bob Frazee, president and CEO of Mid-Atlantic Farm Credit.

The merger converts Valley's outstanding stock and equities into like stock and equities in Mid-Atlantic. The association will continue operating as Mid-Atlantic Farm Credit. It combines territories ranging from eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland with the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia and the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia.
