Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin will hold a one-day workshop designed to give dairy farm families, owners and managers the tools they need to work together effectively and plan for their farm’s future. The PDPW Business Transition Workshop will be held on Jan. 31 at the Glacier Canyon Lodge Conference Center, Wisconsin Dells, Wis., and on Feb. 1 at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center, Green Bay, Wis., from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. both days.
The training will be led by Nicole Bettinger, a family business expert and consultant specializing in communication, conflict resolution and training next-generation family business owners. The workshop will equip families to start and steer through the tough conversations that come with transition planning, identify and resolve bottlenecks, and develop specific strategies that provide a reliable road map for everyone involved.
Attendees will leave with the tools they need to establish their own transition plan and implement policies to provide predictability and protection for owners and family members.
“Transition planning can be one of the most difficult processes for any business, and especially for today’s dairy farm families,” says Marty Hallock, PDPW board president and a dairy farmer in Mondovi, Wis. “The Business Transition Workshop will provide a combination of real examples and practical tips, and give us dairy farmers the opportunity to learn from our peers in a positive environment.”
