E15, often branded at the gas pump as Unleaded 88, is the newest addition to GasBuddy, which is North America’s top fuel app and website used by millions of drivers to save money on fuel. GasBuddy is the largest database of real-time, crowdsourced gas price data covering more than 150,000 gas stations.

The new partnership allows GasBuddy app users to access a comprehensive database of Unleaded 88 fuel at more than 1,800 retail locations around the country. Growth Energy also launched an advertising campaign within the app to promote the benefits of the cleaner-burning, renewable, lower-cost fuel option to consumers. Drivers all over the U.S. rely on GasBuddy to find the best prices for fuel, which makes the addition of Unleaded 88 – typically up to $0.10 per gallon cheaper than standard gasoline despite being a higher-octane fuel – a perfect addition to the app.

Growing the market for higher ethanol blends is a critical component of revitalizing the rural economy which is currently embroiled in tough times. The GasBuddy initiative serves as another momentum boost for increasing demand and growing the market for E15 on the heels of the recent final Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) action to allow year-round sales of the fuel. Growth Energy and the Prime the Pump program have torn down commercial barriers to bring E15 to new markets, and the partnership with GasBuddy will ensure that drivers everywhere will be able to quickly and easily find Unleaded 88 at their local gas stations.

Today, leading fuel retailers like Kwik Trip, Sheetz, Casey’s General Store, Cumberland Farms, Thorntons, Kum & Go, RaceTrac, QuikTrip, Rutter’s Minnoco, Protec Fuel, Murphy USA, Family Express, Royal Farms, Pump & pantry, and Bosselmans offer Unleaded 88 at more than 1,800 locations across 31 states.
