Dahlgren & Company, Inc. with processing facilities in Crookston, Minn., Grace City, N.D., and Fargo, N.D., announced an aggressive increase in 2008 new crop prices for confection sunflowers to $37.50 per cwt representing a $7.50 per cwt increase in price. All existing contracts were moved up as well. The contracts are for 1,000 pounds per acre with an Act of God clause. The contract price is for Dahlgren confection seed varieties only and will be offered until March 31. The quantity of contracts available at this price will be limited so producers are urged to the call as soon as possible to take advantage of this opportunity.
