Eye in the Sky Drives Better Decisions

Advances in global positioning and geographic imaging systems (GPS/GIS) can help farmers make more profitable decisions.

“Cotton farmers have found GIS to be particularly useful in getting all areas of a field to mature at the same time,” Dennis Gardisser, professor and biological and agricultural engineer, University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service explains. “A scout can use GIS and GPS data to prescribe a management plan that makes the field mature at the same time.”
