The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will host a day of training during the Amarillo Farm and Ranch Show on Nov. 27 in the Grand Plaza of the Amarillo Civic Center, 401 S. Buchanan St., Amarillo.

The Panhandle Farm and Ranch Management Symposium will offer six Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units – two general, two integrated pest management, one laws and regulations and one drift – and six certified crop advisor units.

Registration will be $60 at the door and begins at 8:15 a.m. The program will start at 9 a.m. Lunch will be served from noon to 1 p.m.

Topics and speakers will be:

Feed Grain Weed Control, Dr. Jourdan Bell, AgriLife Extension agronomist, Amarillo.
Insect ID and Control in Feed Grains, Dr. Ed Bynum, AgriLife Extension entomologist, Amarillo.
TDA Laws and Regulations, Kyle Thompson, Texas Department of Agriculture pesticide inspector, Lubbock.
Cotton Insect Management, Kerry Siders, AgriLife Extension integrated pest management agent for Hockley, Cochran and Lamb counties.
Managing Resistant Weeds in a Cotton Rotation, Dr. Peter Dotray, Texas A&M AgriLife Research weed scientist, Lubbock.
How to Prevent Herbicide Drift, Blayne Reed, AgriLife Extension integrated pest management agent, Hale County.
The program will end by 4 p.m., at which time attendees can pick up CEU and CCA certificates.
