There are more new drills, seeders and accessories to help drills and seeders perform better after the farm show season than there were before. Several companies, both major manufacturers and short-line companies, introduced new products for this market.

The Landoll 5540 grain drill can cover a 50-foot width in a single pass. You can move through the field quickly, racking up planted acres in a hurry and getting the job done correctly with this new implement. Case IH introduced an air seeder with the ability to place both seed and fertilizer more accurately than before. It should appeal to those wanting accuracy but who prefer an air seeder to cover as many acres as possible.

Kuhn Krause unveiled the CCX 9000 tool, designed specifically to seed cover crops. As the cover crop market grows and demand for more accurate seeding intensifies, look for more companies to follow Kuhn Krause’s lead and pay attention to what farmers want in a cover crop seeder.

Remlinger’s 2300 drill, available in various widths up to 15 feet, could be used to seed many things — from cover crops to soybeans to pollinator plots. Some of the attachments you would need to seed pollinator species or warm-season grasses are available as options. Three-point hitch models are available in the lineup.

Loup introduces a new monitor designed exclusively for drills to get more accurate information than you had before. Also, Exapta has entered the market, offering row cleaners for certain models of John Deere drills.
