The Around Farm Progress podcast looks at the changing equipment market from two sides – auctions, and an industry leader

To say that the equipment business is getting a little crazy may be an understatement. Lack of new machines on dealer lots, and rising crop prices have boosted demand for new machines. Farmers are turning to late-model used machines as an alternative. Across the board, the equipment industry is seeing challenging times.

To get some perspective on just what's happening, Around Farm Progress connected with two sources to offer insight into just what's going on. For the used equipment side, the online auction has become a powerful tool, and for 2021 Mark Stock, president, and cofounder of BigIron Auctions, is seeing plenty of new business. Stock offers his take on what's happening. In addition to helping sellers to market equipment, BigIron also auctions farmland, and he offers information on that topic too.

On the industry side, we caught up with Eric Raby, president and general manager, sales at Claas of America, who shares what his company is doing and even offers some insight on supply challenges facing the industry. Claas turned on its early order system a little sooner than usual this year, and Raby discusses the reason for that as well. He also shares how expansion of dealer outlets for the brand are going.

Give it a listen.
