The pickup truck business is competitive with Ford, Chevy and Ram at the top of the pack. Roll in GMC sales and in 2016 more than 1 million half-ton pickups were sold in the U.S. And two brands add another 90,000 machines, but they keep pushing ahead in this market.

Nissan and Toyota have pushed hard to play in the pickup market where volumes and margins are solid. We've shown you the Ram, Ford and Chevy trucks for 2017 and beyond (in the case of Ford), and this time we thought we'd share some info on the fourth and fifth players in this market.

For 2017 Nissan is launching a Crew Cab to join the Titan single- and crew-cab models. Nissan sold just over 5,600 Titans in 2016 according to Cars.com figures. But sold more than 5,500 trucks in March alone (though Cars.com can't break out the difference between half-ton and heavy duty models), which may have been bolstered by the Titan XD too - which sets a different standard in pickup sizes that we've covered before.

Toyota's Tundra has been pretty  much the same since 2014, though there are some tech enhancements for this truck line that is only V8 powered. There's some new tech for 2017, and some other features. So click through this gallery to learn what Nissan and Toyota have for the new model year.
