Telehandlers are now on the ag radar screen. Enough farmers are using them for various purposes in larger operations to justify companies building them for agriculture. And if someone is going to build them, someone else will build tires for them.

Maxam introduced a new tire at farms shows recently, specifically designed to help a telehandler work more effectively and safely.

The company also brought out a new tire designed with tread that works best on the changing conditions encountered when operating a skid steer. Several other companies also make tires that can handle the rough conditions where skid steers operate.

Likewise, several companies make tires specifically designed for combines. Maxam also introduced a combine tire that can handle varying weights and travel at road speeds when needed.

Trelleborg attracted attention at the Farm Progress Show by positioning a tractor devoted to tractor pulling outside the company’s tent. The tractor was equipped with tires by Trelleborg built for tractor pulling.

The company also featured its new system that makes checking inflation pressure on tractor tires easier, even tires equipped with duals. Sensors on the tires allow you to “read” the tire pressure in each tire several feet away from the tractor. No more trying to stick a tire gauge on a valve in an awkward place.

Global Track Warehouse wanted farmers stopping by its exhibit to know that it makes tracks, and GTW makes them for companies to install as OEM equipment, too. Some Fendt Vario tractors can come with GTW tracks as an option.
