As you walk into the exhibit halls of the Memphis Cook Convention Center March1-2 for the 2019 Mid-South Farm and Gin Show, you’ll encounter the latest equipment, technology, and innovation available in agriculture — and that’s been the case since the first show opened 67 years ago.

The traffic flow will be different this year, due to renovations of the convention center, but there will still be a pride in knowing the show is an event at which many companies are anxious to exhibit, says Tim Price, show manager. “The rapid pace of change in agricluture drives many of the new products and services available at the show. Farmers attending the event will have the opportunity to get a firsthand look at what’s new in the industry — new technology, new products, and other new developments in agriculture.”

Attendees will register this year in the Canon Center lobby, proceed to a tent on Poplar Avenue, and then enter the east lobby corridor of the convention center, which runs along Main Street. Signage will direct showgoers through the rest of the show. Exhibits in the convention center will be plentiful, Price says.

“Exhibits will be staged in the South Hall, Show Hall, and Large Hall, as in previous years. We’re making the most of the space available while the convention center is under renovation. We believe it’s important to keep this showcase of Mid-South agriculture at this strategic location, where it’s been for decades, and where attendees are used to coming.”

The show is designed to incorporate both exhibits and education opportunities, providing attendees one place to see the latest technology and innovation, as well as learn about emerging issues and marketing techniques, Price says. “If you haven’t decided to attend the 2019 show, and the opportunity to see the latest innovations and technology doesn’t convince you, perhaps having access to industry experts at Ag Update Seminars, or attending special seminars will help.”

Seminars

Ag Update Seminars are scheduled for Friday, March 1, and Saturday, March 2, beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Lobby Meeting Room. Attendees can expect to hear from the incoming chairman of the National Cotton Council, and Joe Nicosia of Louis Dreyfus. Richard Brock of Brock Associates will headline the Saturday, March 2, Ag Update seminar, providing his unique perspective on grain marketing, as well as a market outlook. Additional seminars and special events are also planned, and details will be provided as communicated as they are finalized, Price says.

All show information will be available on the updated Farm and Gin Show mobile app, which will be available for download in the early 2019. It can be downloaded from iTunes or the Android app store. The app features show schedules and updates, traffic flow and maps, speaker biographies, and exhibitor information, all designed to enhance the showgoing experience.

Price encourages people to pre-register for the show. “You can easily register online to ease the process of on-site printing of name badges. Go to the Farm and Gin Show website (www.farmandginshow.com), click on the “Attendee Registration” button, complete the form, and print out the confirmation. Bring that form with you to the show and staff on-site will help you complete the process and get your name badge so you can quickly get onto the show floor.”
