EPA approves Arrow label

A LABEL for Arrow brand clethodim herbicide has been approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for postemergence annual and perennial grass control in a broad range of crops throughout the United States.

Arrow 2 EC, from Makhteshim Agan of North America, Inc., (MANA) is an alternative to other branded and private label clethodim products. Arrow is effective over a broad spectrum of annual and perennial grasses at a narrow rate range.

The Arrow label covers crops such as soybeans, cotton, alfalfa, vegetables, peanuts, and sunflowers. It is the first new clethodim label following the technical ingredient's patent expiration.

Arrow 2 EC is especially effective against seedling and rhizome johnsongrass and shattercane at relatively low doses.

Clethodim herbicide has been a popular choice in soybeans, alfalfa and vegetable crops. According to John Frieden, MANA product manager, Arrow clethodim will also play a role in the control of volunteer Roundup Ready corn in Roundup Ready soybeans.

For a copy of the label on the Internet, go to and search for “Arrow.”
