EPA Delays E15 Blending Decision

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announces that it needs more time to decide whether the blending limit for ethanol in gasoline should be raised from 10% to as high as 15%. EPA says it needs more time to study data on the effects higher blends have on some vehicles.

According to a letter to Growth Energy posted on the EPA Web site, further testing should be completed by mid-June. EPA says initial tests indicate vehicles newer than 2001 “will likely accommodate” gasoline containing 15% ethanol.
