British Columbia's biodiesel mandate began Jan. 1, 2010, but the 5% requirement will be phased in over a two-year period, according to Oil Price Information Service.

The British Columbia Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources amended the regulation, requiring the requirement to be phased in — a 3% biodiesel target for 2010, 4% in 2011 and 5% in 2012.
