Join solar energy enthusiasts from across Minnesota for the first Minnesota Solar Congress, a free public conference on all things solar, hosted by Solar United Neighbors of Minnesota.

The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 21, at the University of Minnesota’s West Central Research and Outreach Center, 46352 State Highway 329, Morris, Minn.

The congress will bring together solar supporters from across the state. Organizers say the event will provide an opportunity to learn, share stories and celebrate solar energy in Minnesota.

This first event — and organizers plan for it to become an annual event — will focus on solar opportunities in rural communities and for farms, businesses and homes.

The day will include a series of presentations about solar technology, including “Solar 101,” the economics of solar for farmers, solar plus battery storage, the state of solar in Minnesota and much more.

The event will conclude with a tour of the innovative clean energy projects at the West Central Research and Outreach Center.

Lunch will be provided for all attendees.

The 2018 Minnesota Solar Congress is being hosted by Solar United Neighbors of Minnesota, in partnership with U-M’s West Central Research and Outreach Center; Minnesota Farmers Union; Renewing the Countryside; University of Minnesota, Morris; and Clean Energy Resource Teams.
