Growers Edge launches app version of its services, with a new GrainLogs tracking feature.

Growers Edge has been an online resource for farmers since 2007, serving as a hub of weather and market information; but in the fall, the company launched an app to allow users to have access to its services from anywhere.

The new Growers Edge grain storage app allows farmers to access personalized weather data, local market data and more to help manage profits. And the newest feature is called GrainLogs, which allows growers to track where their grain is stored. Through this feature, a farmer specifies bins that can be on multiple farms and record grain movement into and out of each bin.

In addition, a user can send reports with spreadsheets of data on their bins to an email address of their choice.

The app is aimed at providing a total grain management tool, all in one place on your smartphone. Beyond the grain-tracking feature, additional information available in the app includes:

  • Local cash bids
  • Markets
  • Corn prices
  • Best Cash Bid
  • Profit manager
  • Soybean prices
  • Market commentary
  • Pinpointed weather

The weather information in the app is pinpointed locally to the user’s fields, and growers can find their best cash price bids within 100 miles of their location. And it’s adjusted for trucking and storage costs.

GrainLogs is a new tool within the app to track grain movement as it heads in and out of storage.

Market commentary is also available. And users can compare risk management options by using the Profit Manager tool – this helps a grower make goals, adjust input costs, record transactions and keep track of profit for each crop and year. The company says information stored in the app is safe and secure, as it is username and password protected.

“We value our user’s feedback, they asked for a grain management app and we delivered.” said Craig Mouchka, Growers Edge president, in a release. “Our farmers are utilizing technology to increase efficiency and generate higher profits with Growers Edge. “

The company says users on average earn about 10 to 30 cents more per bushel by using the Growers Edge management tools. And the key is that user information is well organized in one spot, which aids in the decision making process.

The app is free and available for iPhone and Android devices. Visit
