SCHOLARSHIPS: CentralStar Cooperative is offering seven $1,000 scholarships for students in agriculture-related fields this year.jacolund/gettyimages

CentralStar Cooperative, formed with a recent merger between East Central/Select Sires, Waupun, Wis., and NorthStar Cooperative, Lansing, Mich., is offering seven, $1,000 scholarships this year — two of which are designated to technical school or short-course students.

Those interested can find the application at mycentralstar.com. The deadline is July 1.

Applicants must be enrolled in a four-year college, a one- or two-year technical college or a short-course program in an agriculture-related field.

Applicants also can be a high school senior admitted into one of the programs. The applicant or their parents must currently be buying semen or farm products from CentralStar Cooperative (including the former East Central/Select Sires and NorthStar Cooperative). The application contains additional detail.

Winners will receive notification in August or September, before the official award presentation at the CentralStar Cooperative annual meeting.
